Princeton, NJ - Sophomore Christine Holdredge (Ashley Falls, MA) scored her first goal of the season with under four minutes left in the second period, in Brown's, 3-2 loss this evening at the Hobey Baker Rink, in Princeton, NJ.
The Tigers came out hungry scoring the lone goal of the period, just two minutes into the game. After three consecutive penalties to the Bears, the women icers regrouped and went on the offensive, but couldn't find the back of the net to end the first period.
Half way through the second, with a man down, junior Keaton Zucker (Gilford, NH) won the puck at center ice and skated down for a one on one with Princeton goaltender Roxanne Gaudiel. Zucker tried to slide the puck under the left pad of Gaudiel, but the Gaudiel turned the shot away to keep the Tigers ahead by one. Princeton would double their lead on a power play goal that slipped past freshman goalie Stacy Silverman (Wakefield, MA). Silverman finished the game with 21 saves for the Bears. Holdredge scored a power play goal with under four minutes remaining in the second, when she took a pass from Zucker and put it in the back of the net to cut the Tiger lead to one.
With the Bears trailing, 3-1, late in the third, senior Amy McLaughlin (Berlin, MA) took a pass from Zucker at the point and shot a rocket over the left arm of Gaudiel, for her first goal of the season. The Bears pulled Silverman with under 45 seconds left in the game, but couldn't get the puck in the Tiger's net.
Brown will wrap up the weekend tomorrow Saturday, November 14, when it travels to Yale for a 4:00 face off with the Bulldogs.
