Ithaca, NY - As the clock ticked down, it appeared that the Brown women's hockey team (1-4-1, 1-3-1 ECAC Hockey) would pick up its second ECAC Hockey victory of the year. However, after a hitting after the whistle penalty with 13 seconds remaining, Cornell (3-4-1, 0-1-1 ECAC Hockey) was able to get the equalizer with just two seconds left, sending the game to overtime. Junior assistant captain Nicole Stock (Buffalo Grove, IL) was able to make 10 saves in the extra frame to keep Cornell off the board, as the teams finished tied, 2-2.

Brown captain Hayley Moore (Wakefield, MA) opened the scoring at 9:58 in the first period, getting the Bears' first power-play goal of the year off assists from sophomore Nicole Brown (Swift Current, SASK) and freshman Erica Kromm (Naramata, BC). The goal was Moore's first of the year and 57th of her career, moving her into ninth all-time at Brown.

Cornell was able to answer back before the first intermission, as Amber Overguard was able to lift the puck past Stock's shoulder on a power play with 37 seconds remaining in the period. It did not take Brown long to retake the lead, however. Just 2:02 into the second frame, sophomore Erin Connors (Newburyport, MA) scored her second goal of the season. Stock got her second career assist on the play, starting the drive up the ice with a long pass to sophomore Sasha Van Muyen (Orillia, ONT), who fed Connors for the goal.

Brown held that lead until late in the third. Cornell pulled goaltender Kayla Strong with 1:02 left for an extra attacker. Although Stock was able to stop the Big Red, a penalty on freshman Samantha Stortini (Sudbury, ONT) allowed Cornell to put Strong back in and keep an advantage. With just two seconds left, Liz Zorn was able to slip the puck past the Brown goalie, sending the game to overtime. After making 35 saves in regulation, at least 11 in each period, Stock made 10 stops in the extra five minutes to help the Bears take a point. She finished the night with 45 saves, tying her career high, while Strong made 30 stops.

Next weekend, the Bears will face their toughest competition of the year, hosting #9/RV Dartmouth on Friday night at 7 p.m. and #6/7 Harvard on Saturday at 4 p.m.
