#3Brown Falls to #2 Dartmouth

Nov. 9, 2001

Junior Kim Insalaco (Rochester, NY) returned to the Bears lineup after missing the first two games of the season. Insalaco joined the women's soccer team at Brown in the fall, and has been fulfilling commitments with the team during the early part of the hockey season.

Insalaco made her presence felt immediately, scoring just 34 seconds into the game. The Bears controlled the game in the early minutes, and freshman Jessica Link (Clifton Park, NY) found the back of the net at the 3:53 mark for her second goal of the season. Dartmouth came back to score at the 13:38 point of the first stanza, making the score 2-1 going into the first intermission.

In the second period, Dartmouth got on the board first and early, when junior Carly Haggard scored her 6th goal of the season. Time of the goal came at the 2:17 mark. Brown would follow at the 9:29 mark, when freshman Kerry Nugent ( Andover, MA) scored on a feed from senior captain, Kristy Zamora (Oshawa, ONT). Nugent's goal would be the final one of the night for the Bears.

The Big Green found the back of the net three more times, making the final score, 5-3.

Dartmouth improves to 3-0-0, while the Bears fall to 2-1-0 on the season. Brown returns to action on Saturday November 10, for a 4:00pm game against University of Vermont.
