Canton, NY - In the third and decisive game of the ECACHL quarterfinal series, the Brown women's ice hockey team fell to St. Lawrence, 5-2. Rallying from a three goal deficit, the Bears cut the Saints lead to one goal with five minutes remaining in the second period, but St. Lawrence tacked on two goals to defeat the Bears and head to Union for the ECACHL Final Four.

The Saints picked up right where they left off on Saturday, pressuring the Brown defense which was anchored by first year goalie O'Hara Shipe (Anchorage, AK). St. Lawrence took a 1-0 lead just 0:44 into the game, and added a goal in the period on a Saint's power play to grab a two-goal lead. The Bear's best opportunity came with under three minutes to go on a power play of their own. Junior Ashlee Drover (Bay Roberts, NF) took the puck and found senior Amy McLaughlin (Berlin, MA) wide open in the slot. McLaughlin took a hard wrist shot, but St. Lawrence goalie Jess Moffat smothered the puck, keeping the lead at two after one period.

St. Lawrence went up by three when they knocked a power play goal, 2:19 into the period. Thirty seconds later Bears' freshman Emilie Bydwell (Montreal, QC) scored her first goal of the season, getting the Bears on the board at the 17:22 mark in the second. Senior Jessica Link (Clifton Park, NY) and freshman Rylee Olewinski (Burr Ridge, IL) earned assists on the goal. The three struck again later that period, Link took the draw deep in the Saint's zone. Olewinski took control of the puck and fed Link in the slot. Link took the puck and skated across the crease, shooting it in the bottom right hand corner to close the gap to one goal, 3-2. St. Lawrence struck again, extending its lead to two goals, 4-2, going into the second intermission.

St. Lawrence tacked on an insurance goal with 12:23, remaining in the game putting the game out of reach for the Bears. Standing strong in net for Brown, Shipe finished the game with 25 saves.
