The Brown University women's ice hockey team (12-6-2, 8-2-1) dropped to #3Harvard (19-2-1, 9-2-1), 5-2 Saturday afternoon at Meehan Auditorium. The Crimson added two late goals in the third to seal the victory over the Bears.
Harvard got out to a quick start in the first, netting three goals within the first nine minutes of play. However, Brown got themselves on the board at the 17:29 mark when junior Krissy McManus (Dedham, MA) tallied her 7th goal of the season off a pass from junior Kerry Nugent (Andover, MA) to bring the game within two going into the second period.
Both teams remained scoreless in the second until the Bears brought the game within one at the 16:10 mark. Junior Jessica Link (Clifton Park, NY) netted her 17th goal of the season, her fifth in Brown's last five games. Sophomores Keaton Zucker (Gilford, NH) and Lindsey Glennon (Exeter, NH) added assists on the play.
In the third period, the Crimson added two late goals to clinch the victory over the Bears.
The Bears will continue action, Sunday, February 15 when they travel to Harvard for a 2:00 p.m. game.
