Brown got on the scoreboard first at the 18:13 mark of the 1st period, when seior Kristy Zamora intercepted a pass and skated in uncontestsed against Big Green goaltender Amy Ferguson. Ferguson stopped Zamora's first shot, but the senior from Oshawa, Ontario finished the rebound opportunity.
Meredith Ostrander gave the Bears a 2-0 lead, scoring on the power play at the 15:03 mark of the second period. Ostrander tipped in rebound shot by Kim Insalaco. The goal was Ostrander's second of the season.
The Bears took a 3-0 lead at 7:09 of the final period, when freshman Kerry Nugent collected a loose puck in front of the net, and slotted it past Ferguson.Just over two minutes later, Dartmouth cut the lead to 3-1 when Carly Haggard tallied her 23rd goal of the season. Courtney Johnson scored Brown's 4th goal of the game at 10:23 of the final period. McManus and Ostrander assisted on Johnson's goal.
Carly Haggard scored her second goal of the night for the Big Green, cutting Brown's lead 4-2 at the 15:36 mark of the period. With 30 seconds left in the game, Kristy Zamora got her second goal of the night, scoring on the empty net.
Sophomore Katie Germain was outstanding in net, recording 24 saves. The win was her 7th of the season, improving her record to 7-3-0 overall and 6-1-0 in the ECAC.
Brown (15-6-2, 9-3-1, 4-2-1) returns to action this Wednesday February 13, hosting Providence College at Meehan Auditorium at 7:00pm.
