Insalaco Leads Bears Past Connecticut, 3-1

Junior Kim Insalaco recorded three points in the win.

Connecticut got on the board first when, Kim Berry scored her 18th goal of the season at the 19:23 mark of the first period.

The Bears came back to dominate the second period, recording 17 shots to Connecticut's one. Courtney Johnson (Falmouth, MA) tied the score at 1-1, scoring her 4th goal in as many games at the 11:42 mark of the period. Kim Insalaco (Rochester, NY) and Cassie Turner (Cambpellford, Ontario) pickled up the helpers on Johnson's goal.

In the final stanza, Insalaco tallied her second point of the afternoon, scoring at 8:48 of the period to give the Bears a 2-1 lead. Cassie Turner and Emily Sigman (Milton, MA) tallied assists on the goal. Kristy Zamora (Oshawa, Ontario) sealed the win at 19:23, scoring on an empty net, with Insalaco and Meredith Ostrander assisting.

Junior Pam Dreyer recorded the win, totaling 13 saves on the afternoon.

Brown (10-6-1, 6-3-0) return to action on Sunday January 20, taking on Niagara University in Providence.
