Jan. 8, 2002

The Bears recorded a season high, 75 shots in the game, on the way to a 6-1 victory.

The first period was all Brown, as the Bears had 23 shots on goal in the period. Quinnipiac goaltender, Mel Courtemanche was outstanding, denying Brown a tally throughout the period.

The Bears continued to put on the pressure, lighting up the lamp three more times in the period. The next Bear tally came at 9:35, when Kristy Zamora (Oshawa, Ontario) did what seems to come naturally lately, recording her eighth goal in four games. Jess Link (Clifton Park, NY) and Mandy McCurdy (Johnstown, Ontario) recorded assists on the goal.

Krissy McManus (Dedham, MA) then scored two quick goals, at 16:01 and again at 16:19. Kim Insalaco (Rochester, NY) and Katie Lafleur (Aylmer, Ouebec) assisted on McManus' first goal, while Johnson and Insalaco tallied assists on the second.

McManus scored just 55 seconds into the final period, giving the Bears a 5-0 lead. Jess Link scored Brown's final goal at 14:51, on assists from Ostrander and Sigman.

The Bears were unable to record the shutout, allowing Quinnipiac's Elizabeth Jankowski to score at the 15:17 mark of the final stanza.

Junior Pam Dreyer and sophomore Katie Germain split time in net for the Bears. Dreyer posted six saves on the night, while Germain recorded four saves.
