Brown Set To Face Dartmouth and No. 9 Harvard on the Road

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Brown continues its three-game, season-opening road trip this weekend when the Bears (0-1-0) face off against Dartmouth (0-0-0) and No. 9 Harvard (0-0-0) this weekend. It will be Dartmouth's first game of the year when they meet Brown on Friday and Harvard will be the Bears second top-10 opponent in its first three games on Saturday.

Last Time Out

The Bears opened their 2010-11 slate last weekend on the road at the Conte Forum against No. 8 Boston College. After the Eagles were able to score two quick goals, Brown's Laurie Jolin (Lachine, Montreal) tallied the Bears first goal of the season on a power play on the pass from sophomore Alena Polenksa (Kutna Hora, Czech Republic).

Trailing late in the third, junior Katelyn Landry (Belmont, Mass.) lit the lamp for the second time off the feed from freshman Jennifer Nedow (Brockville, Ontario) for the Bears second goal of the year.

Scouting Dartmouth

Dartmouth opens its regular season at home against Brown. The last time the squad opened on home ice was in the 2007-08 season when it earned a 4-3 overtime victory over Vermont. The Big Green have fared well when they do not have to go on the road to start the season. In 14 contests, Dartmouth is 12-2 when its first game is at home. In season opening games, the Big Green are 24-9.

Scouting Harvard

For the first time in three years, No. 9 Harvard will open the regular season at home, as they face Yale and Brown at Bright Hockey Center. The Crimson has captured two of the last three ECAC regular season championships and placed third in the league last season with a 20-8-5 overall record and advanced to the ECAC semifinal round. The Crimson qualified for its eighth NCAA tournament appearance in program history and also captured its 13th Beanpot title, downing Northeastern, 1-0.
