New Britain, CT - The Brown women's golf took first place in the rain-shortened Central Connecticut Invitational Tournament, taking the title with a 317 team total. Saturday's second round was cancelled due to torrential rain.
The Bears placed first over Hartford (331), Central Connecticut (333), Boston University (338), Fairfield (348), Sacred Heart (349), Mt. Holyoke (352), Albany (363) and Laval (361).
Senior Eleanor Thomas (Auburn, AL) led the Brown squad, who competed with just four players, finishing second individually with a 77. Sophomores Tiffany Wade (Alameda, CA) and Blythe Crane (Chelsea, MI) each shot 80, along with freshman Karen Freed (Weston, FL).
