Junior Elizabeth Carpenter (Plantation, FL) paced the entire field of 65 players with a two-day, one over par 145, to lead the Brown women's golf team to a first place finish at the Princeton Invitational in Princeton, New Jersey.
Head coach Mike Harbour's team shot a two-day score of 614 to outdistance second place Princeton (628) and third place William & Mary (657). Individually, Brown placed three players in the top four of the tournament played at the Springdale Golf Club.
Carpenter has been the mainstay of the Bears lineup this season. She carded a one over par 73 on the first day of play and came back with an even par 72 on Sunday to capture individual medalist honors by four shots.
Sophomore Amy Behrman placed third overall, shooting 75-77-152 in the two day event, while senior Tara Fiscella (Newtown, CT) finished fourth with a two-day 157, shooting 82-75. Freshman Eleanor Thomas was Brown's fourth scorer with a two-day 160 (79, 81), placing 8th overall. Sophomore Jennifer Bley also played well for the Bears, shooting 84-83-167, to finish 28th overall.
