New Haven, CT - Freshman Heather Arison continued her outstanding play in her inaugural season at Brown with a second place individual finish at the rain-shortened Yale Invitational at the Yale Golf Course. Arison shot a one-over-par 72 to finish one shot out of first place. Saturday's first round was officially rained out due to unplayable conditions. All 19-teams concluded play on Sunday with 18 holes in partial rain.
As a team, Brown shot 325 to place 14th. Harvard captured the team title at 301. Followed by Texas San Antonio (305), Birmingham So. (308), William & Mary (309), St. John's (310), Yale (311), Columbia (312), Boston College (314), Richmond (316), Fairleigh Dickinson (318), Rollins (319), Towson (319), Berry (320), Brown, Dartmouth (326), Hartford (327), Sacred Heart (330), Penn (330) and Monmouth (358).
Arison shot her one-over 72 with nine-hole scores of 37-35 on the 6,100 yard Yale course. Sophomore Sarah Guarascio was Brown's second leading scorer withy 43-40--83, followed by Carly Arison (41-44--85) and junior Kendalle Bennett (45-40--85). Sophomore Susan Restrepo came in at 45-42--87, as did freshman Megan Tuohy (42-45--87.
The Bears will take a week off from competition and resume play at the University of Richmond Invitational, October 13-14, in Richmond, Virginia.
