Vernon, NJ - Poor playing conditions due to rain at the Great Gorge Country Club caused the cancellation of play Sunday morning in the Ivy League Women's Golf Championship. The winner was determined by the 27 holes that were played on Saturday, with Brown finishing 6th overall with a score of 522. Yale captured the title by a five stroke margin with a team score of 488, followed by Harvard (493), Princeton (497), Penn (516), Columbia (518), Brown (522) and Dartmouth (536).
Bears' sophomore Blythe Crane (Chelsea, MI) finished third individually with scores of 79-42--121 to earn first team All-Ivy honors. Freshman Karin Freed (Weston, FL) placed 17th individually and second on the Brown team with a 27-hole score of 130 (86, 44).
Brown sophomore Tiffany Wade (Alameda, CA) turned in a 27-hole 132, shooting 85, 47. Also scoring for the Bears were senior Emily Washington (Pasadena, CA) at 139 (89, 50), and freshman Christine Pappas (Sewickley, PA) at 157 (104, 53).
