Seekonk, Mass. - Brown's women's golf team earned a sixth place finish at its own Brown Bear Invitational, completing play on Monday with a 36-hile 608 at the Ledgemont Country Club. Seton Hall (569) captured the team title by 34 shots over second place St. John's (603).
Seton Hall's Mia Kness captured the invitational title with a two-round one-under par 141 on rounds of 70-71. She earned the title after a four-hole playoff with teammate Madeline Sager, who also shot 70-71—141.
Seton Hall and St. John's paced the field and were followed by Quinnipiac (604), Lehigh (606), Fairleigh Dickinson (606), Brown (608), Wagner (613), Hartford (614), Siena (628), Central Connecticut (635) and LIU-Brooklyn (636).
Brown was led by senior captain Christine Kim, a former Ivy League Individual Champion, who shot one-under 70 to open the tournament and added a 77 on day 2 for a two-round 147 to earn a Top 10 finish (10th) individually. Following close behind was freshman Brittany Park, who opened with 78, followed by a one-under par 70 in the second round for a 36-hole 148, to place 12th.
Coach Danielle Griffith's team will conclude its fall schedule at the St. John's Invitational at the St. Andrew's Golf Club, located in Hastings on the Hudson, New York.
