Canton, MA - Brown's women's golf team claimed fourth place at the Boston College Intercollegiate after posting a 54-hole score of 912 at the par 72, 6137 yard Blue Hill Country Club. Two Brown players – freshman Brittany Park and senior Christine Kim – placed in the Top 10 individually.
Richmond captured the team title at 887, besting host Boston College by 11 shots (898). Georgetown placed third (903) followed closely by Brown (912), Elon (916), Florida International (928), North Dakota State (928), St. John's (930), South Dakota (935), Ball State (941), Fairleigh Dickinson (942), Wofford (944), Illinois State (945), USC Upstate (946), Wagner (958) and Lipscomb (986).
Park made her collegiate debut for coach Danielle Griffith's squad and placed sixth individually with rounds of 77-73-74—225 over 54-holes. Kim, a two-time All-Ivy selection, was 10th individually after posting scores of 73-77-75—225.
Junior Elizabeth Doykan had a strong showing with a 25th place finish individually, shooting 74-80-77—231, while freshman Winnie McCabe also played her first collegiate match and shot 82-76-79—237. Senior Sienna Chapman closed strong with a final round 76. Sophomore Haley Mander played as an individual and shot 89-87-95—271.
The Bears are back in action next week at the Hartford Invitational, September 30 – October 1 at the Gillette Ridge Golf Course in Bloomfield, Conn.
