Bears Seventh After Day One of Ivy League Championship

Springfield, N.J. – The Brown women's golf team is seventh after the opening day at the Ivy League Championship, played at the famed Baltusrol Golf Club, a par 72 and 6,632 yards championship course. Brown shot an opening round 343.

Baltusrol has been the host to two US Women's Open Championships and two US Women's Amateur Championships in addition to 11 more USGA Championship events.


Harvard holds the opening round lead at 297, followed by Princeton (305), Yale (312), Columbia (316), Penn (320), Dartmouth (326) and Brown (343).


Junior Cassandra Carothers shot 83 to lead the Bears and place 23rd individually after the opening 18 holes.  Sophomore Juliette Garay shot 85, junior Stephanie Hsieh carded 87, sophomore Lauren Flynn came in with 88, and freshman Rosanna Lederhausen shot 89.


The Ivy League Championship continues at Baltusrol with 18 holes on Saturday and 18 holes on Sunday.
