Highland Park, IL - Brown's women's golf team traveled to the Midwest to compete against some of the nation's top teams and placed 15th overall at the Windy City Collegiate Championship at the Northmoor Country Club. Brown shot rounds of 337-319-329—985.
Defending National Champion Southern Cal, ranked second in the nation, captured the championship trophy with a 54-hole 853, taking the title by just two shots over Oklahoma State (855). The victory was a school-record fifth in a row for USC, which has won eight of its past nine starts dating to last season.
Arizona Stanford and Northwestern tied for third at 857, followed by Iowa State (867), Ohio State (873), Georgia (881), Louisville (893), TCU (897), Purdue (901), Minnesota (909), UNC Wilmington (933) and Brown (985).
The Bears started slow but improved on the second day of play, Junior Stephanie Hsieh and sophomore Lauren Flynn each paced the Bears with a 545-hole 239, with Hsieh shooting 81-77-81, and Flynn finishing with 81-76-82.
The Bears will be back on the links again on October 13-14, at the Harvard Invitational, held at the Bay Club at Mattapoisett.
