Bears Place 10th At Georgetown Hoya Invitational

Beallsville, MD – Brown's women's golf team competed at the Georgetown University Hoya Invitational and placed 10th overall in tournament held at the par 72, 6,125 yard The Members Club at Four Streams. The Bears shot 324-337-327—988 in the 54-hole event.

 

Campbell University earned the team championship in dominating fashion with a three-round 894, winning by 13 shots over second place Yale (907). Seton Hall placed third at 918, followed by Nova Southeastern (919), Penn (919), St. John's (951), host Georgetown (957), Rutgers (958), Lehigh (981), Brown (988), Sacred Heart (997), Towson (1034), Hofstra (1040) and Mount St. Mary's (1076).

 

Freshman Margaret Min was Brown's top scorer, shooting 81-84-76—241 to place 35th individually. Sophomore Stephanie Hsieh, a first team All-Ivy selection a year ago, came in at 247 on rounds of 76-87-84.

 

Freshman Lauren Flynn also shot 83-83-81—247, while sophomore Cassandra Carothers carded 254 on round of 84-83-87.  Senior Erica Farrer came in at 266 after shooting 92-88-86.

 

Coach Danielle Griffith's team returns home to host the Brown Invitational, April 15-16, at the Rhode Island Country Club.
