Bears Place 2nd At Sacred Heart Fall Classic

Milford, Conn. - Competing its final tournament of the fall season, the Brown women's golf team made a serious bid at capturing the Sacred Heart Fall invitational, but in the end placed second in the 10-team tournament played at the Par 72,  6,148 yard Great River Golf Club. The Bears shot 324-323—647 to place second behind first place Penn (630).

 

Coach Danielle Griffith's team featured three players in the top 10, led by sophomore Stephanie Hsieh, who placed sixth individually after shooting 76-82—158.  Also finishing in the Top 10 were freshman Maggie Min, who shot 81-80—161 to finish seventh, and freshman Laura Flynn, who carded 85-77—162 to place ninth.

 

Two more Brown player placed in the Top 20, with freshman Juliette Garay placing 14th after shooting 82-84—166, and sophomore Michelle Chen finishing 20th with scores of 85-86—171.

 

In addition, sophomore Cassandra Carothers played as an individual and shot 89-86—175.
