Brown Golfers Named National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar-Athletes

Providence, RI - The National Golf Coaches Association honored five members of the Brown women's golf team as All-American Scholar recipients for 2011-2012. Honored from coach Danielle Griffiths team are senior Carly Arison (Cpley, OH), senior Heather Arison (Copley, OH), freshman Michelle Chen (Plano, TX), freshman Stephanie Hsieh (Alamo, CA) and senior Megan Tuohy (Indianapolis, IN).

 

The criteria for selection to the Division I All-American Scholar Team are among the most stringent in all of college athletics with a minimum GPA of 3.50 necessary for consideration. A total of 585 golfers from Division I, II & III were honored.

 

Carly Arison, Heather Arison and Megan Tuohy were four-year standouts for the Bears' golf team. Both Carly and Heather are Commerce and Organizations concentrators at Brown, while Touhy is a neuroscience concentrator.

 

Hsieh is a first team All-Ivy selection, concentrating in Economics, while Chen has not yet declared a concentration.
