Ponte Vedra Beach, FL - The Brown women's golf team placed fifth at the Marsh Landing Invitational hosted by Jacksonville University, with a 54-hole total of 935. Brown senior Megan Tuohy paced the Bears with a three-round score of 232.
Stetson captured the team championship with a 54-hole 894, followed by Cal Poly (907), Cincinnati (911), Jacksonville (922), Brown (935), Florida Atlantic (942), Florida Gulf Coast (943), Daytona State (947), Northern Illinois (967) and USC Upstate (968).
Tuohy placed 18th individually on rounds of 78-80-74 at the par-72, 6,014 yard Marsh Landing Country Club. Freshman Cassandra Carothers turned in a strong 22nd place finish on rounds of 74-85-75—234.
Senior Heather Arison placed 33rd with a 54-hole 238 on rounds of 78-80-80, while senior Carly Arison shot 81-75-83—239. Freshman Stephanie Hsieh came in at 239, shooting 81-82-78. Freshman Michelle Chen, junior Erica Farrer and freshman Kanika Gandhi played as individuals, with Chen shooting 77-89-82--248, Farrar coming in at 88-87-86—261, and Gandhi scoring 93-82-90—265.
The Bears will be back in action again at the Brown Invitational, April 8-9, at the Rhode Island Country Club in Barrington, Rhode Island.
