Women’s Golf Wins Lehigh Invitational

Bethlehem, PA -  The Brown women's golf team shot a sizzling final round 298, coming from behind to capture the Lehigh Invitational, played at the par-72, 6,005 yard Saucon Valley Country Club's Grace Course.  Bears' freshman Stephanie Hsieh tied for the individual championship, but lost medalist honors in a one-hole playoff.


Brown's team championship came on rounds of 309-298—607 to earn the title by five shots over second place Seton Hall (611).  Rutgers placed third at 628, followed by host Lehigh (642), Fairleigh Dickinson (649), Siena (650), Lehigh B (695) and Albany (697).


Hsieh shot rounds of 73-74—147 to place first for the second time this season.  She also placed first at the Richmond Spider Invitational. Freshman Michelle Chen was close behind, placing third individually with a 36-hole 150 on rounds of 76-74.


Senior captain Megan Touhy wrapped up a successful fall season and enjoyed a top five finish, placing fifth individually on rounds of 76-76—152.  Senior Heather Arison came in with a 36-hole 165 (91-74), while senior Carly Arison shot 84-83—167.
