Brown Golf Class of 2015
Head women's golf coach Danielle Griffiths is pleased to announce the incoming Brown Golf Class of 2015, who are arriving on campus this week and will begin classes on September 7th. This year's class is talented on the golf course and has excelled in the classroom, and is expected to contribute immediately to the Brown team.
STEPHANIE HSIEH, ALAMO, CA
Career Highlights: A graduate of Monte Vista High School in Danville, CA …Won 3 FCWT's in 09-10 season (Coyote Creek Open, Tucson Open, and Bayonet Invitational)…Invited to play in the AJGA Tournament of Champions. ('11)…Qualified for CIF / CGA State Girls Golf Championships in '07, '08, and '09…Won the EBAL league tournament in '09 with a 3-under par 69 at Chardonnay Golf Club… Golfweek Player of the Week…Averaged under par for the high school season during junior year to become the MVP for the East Bay Athletic League)… FCWT Player of the Year as well as being one of the Top 100 Bay Area Prep Athletes of the Year in both '09 and '10…Academic Highlights: National Merit Commended for being on the honor roll all 4 years…FCWT Academic All-American… Personal: Stephanie Hsieh, born May 15, 1993… The daughter of Abraham and Deanna Hsieh…Has a younger brother, Samuel…Hobbies include listening to music, hiking, and playing the violin.
MICHELLE CHEN, PLANO, TX
Career Highlights: Graduated with honors from Plano West Senior High School where she was a four-time letterwinner on the Women's Golf Team….Captained the team her junior and senior year and was a three-time MVP (09, 10, 11)…In 2011, she finished second at her district high school championships shooting a 67 the last day…Placed fourth at the 2011 AJGA Elibit Systems of America…Named the 2008 Texas Junior Golf Tour Player of the Year……Winner of the LPGA Marilyn Smith Scholarship…Academic: A member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, and Math Honor Society...One of five in the nation chosen for the 2010 Hugh Cranford All-Scholastic Team...Awarded with Who's Who Among American High School Students, an award given to the top achieving seniors in the community exhibiting outstanding qualities academically, in leadership, and community service. CASSANDRA CAROTHERS Medford, OR
