Bears Seventh At Ivy Women's Golf Championship After Day One

 NORTHFIELD, N.J. – Brown shot 331 on the first day of competition at the 54-hole Ivy league Championship, held at the par 72 Atlantic City Country Club.

With one round completed, Yale leads the team standings with a combined score of 310, followed closely by Harvard in second at 313, Penn in third at 314, Columbia fourth at 321, Princeton fifth (324), Dartmouth sixth (326) and Brown seventh (331).

Junior Megan Tuohy registered four birdies on her way to a first-round 77, fifth overall.  Tuohy shot nines of 37-40 for her five-over par score.

Junior Heather Arison also had a solid first day after shooting 79.  She also had four birdies, and stands 11th individually. Senior Sarah Guarascio completed her round at 85.

Senior Susan Restrepo shot 90 for the Bears, while junior Carly Arison also scored with 91.

Round two play begins Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at the Atlantic City Country Club. All players will tee off hole one in eight minute intervals with pairings based on Friday's scores. The 2011 Championship concludes on Easter Sunday, starting at 7:30 a.m.
