Women’s Golfers Place Seventh At Brown Bear Invitational
Barrington, Rhode Island - Brown's women's golf team successfully hosted the Brown Bear Invitational at the par-72, 6012 yard Rhode Island Country Club, site of the 2011 United States Amateur Championship. The Bears placed seventh overall with a two-round 631.
Princeton shot a two-day 589 and captured the team title by two shots over Harvard (597), followed by St. John's (598), Yale (601), Fairleigh Dickinson (631), Butler (629), Brown (631), Siena (635), Dartmouth (642), Boston College (649), Boston University (672), Albany (677) and Quinnipiac (844).
St. John's Harin Lee captured medalist honors with a five under par 137 on rounds of 69-68.
Junior Megan Tuohy helped the Bears shoot a second round 309 by carding an even-par 72 to finish with a two round 154, 21st individually. Junior Heather Arison stepped up her play in the final round, shooting 76 to finish 29th individually at 157.
Coach Danielle Griffith's team has two weeks to prepare for the Ivy League Championship, held at the Atlantic City Country Club, April 22-24.
