Womens’ Golf Hosts Brown Bear Invitational at Rhode Island Country Club

Providence, Rhode Island -  The Brown Bear Invitational, hosted by the Brown women's golf team, will be held on April 10th and 11th at the par-72, 6,012 yard Rhode Island Country Club in Barrington, Rhode Island.  Designed by Donald Ross and opened in 1911, the Rhode Island Country Club is the host of the USGA Women's Amateur Championship in August 2011

 

Competing teams include Brown, Albany, Boston College, Boston U., Butler, Dartmouth, Fairleigh Dickinson, Harvard, Princeton, Quinnipiac, St. John's and Yale.

 

Coach Danielle Griffith's Brown team is expected to challenge for the tournament title with a veteran squad, led by seniors Susan Restrepo and Sarah Guarascio, and a trio of talented juniors, Megan Tuohy, Carley Arison and Heather Arison.

 

Tee off-times begin on Sunday, April 10 at 10:00 a.m., with the final tee off time at 1:44 p.m.   Brown will tee-off between 10:00 a.m. and 10:32 a.m. Play should conclude on Sunday by 7:00 p.m.

 

Monday's final round on April 11, is scheduled for a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m.  Play is expected to conclude by 2:00 p.m.
