Seaside, CA - Brown improved its team score by four shots on the final day of competition to place eighth at the 22-team Lady Otter Spring Invitational, hosted by Cal State Monterey Bay at the 5,81- yard, par-72 Black Horse Golf Club. Brown finished with a two-day 636 on rounds of 320-316.
Nova Southeastern University ran away with the team title with a 36-hole 597, followed by CSU-Monterey Bay (614), California Baptist (616), Augustana (628), Sonoma State (632), Central Oklahoma (633), Drury (635), Brown (636), Victoria-BC (637), West Texas A&M (638), USC-San Marcos (642), Nebraska-Omaha (644), CSUMB Blue (647), Newman (648), Academy of Art (654), Cameron (655), Angelo State (660), Chico State (669), UC Santa Cruz (687), CSU-East Bay (695), SW Oklahoma State (696) and Redlands (711).
Junior Megan Tuohy came on strong with a one-over 73 in the final round, to finish at 152 overall, good for 11th place individually in the 114-player field. Senior Sarah Guarascio was solid on both days, carding 77 in the second round to shoot a two-day 156 and finish 18th individually.
Senior captain Susan Restrepo came in at 159 on rounds of 79-80, while junior Carly Arison shot 86 on the final day to finish at 169. Junior Heather Arison also scored for the Bears with a two-round 175 (83-92).
Coach Danielle Griffiths' team returns home to host the Brown Women's Spring Invitational, April 10-11, at the Rhode Island Country Club in Barrington, Rhode Island.
