Brown Wins Northern Illinois Huskie Classic With School Record 296 On Final Day

HUNTLEY, Ill. –A school record 296 on the final day of play provided the impetus for the Brown women's golf team to win the 26th Annual Northern Illinois Huskie Golf Classic by three shots at par-72 Whisper Creek Golf Club.
The Bears trailed by 19 shots coming into the final day of
play, but made that up with a school record 611 on Monday.
Brown won the team title by three shots over host Northern Illinois
(614), with all five scores on the final day from 73-75.
Chicago State placed third (621) followed by Western Illinois
(622), Loyola (622), SIU Edwardsville (634), Gustavus Adolphus
(642), North Dakota State (649), Creighton (656), So. Dakota State
(674), IPFW (675), and St. Francis (IL) (698).
"This was probably one of the most exciting Huskie Classic of
the 26 year history," Huskie head coach Pam Tyska said. "There were
three different school records broken."
Brown junior Carly Arison captured medalist honors at the Huskie Classic, shooting 75-75—150 to capture the individual title in the 74-player field.

Guarascio also had a Top 10 finish, placing sixth individually
with a two-day 153, following a final round of one-over par
73. Senior Susan Restrepo also fired a final round one-over
73, and completed the tournament 13th individually at
155. Junior Heather
Arison also placed 13th individually following her
final round 75, to finish at 155. Junior Megan Tuohy
shot 77 on the final day of play and completed the tournament with
a two-round 157.
Coach Danielle Griffith's team is back in action again at the
Harvard Invitational, October 16-17, at the International GC.
