Suffern, NY - Junior Sarah Guarascio fired an even par 72 on the final day of competition to help the Brown women's golf team to a 9th place finish at the Roar-ee Invitational, hosted by Columbia, at the Spook Rock Golf Club.
Harvard captured the team title with a two round 603, followed by Penn (613), Yale (619), Siena (630), Columbia (631), Fairleigh Dickinson (632), Princeton (637), Sacred Heart (644), Brown (645), Lehigh (645), Dartmouth (647), LIU (650), Albany (658) and Boston U. (682).
Guarascio's sizzling 72 gave her a two-day 152 to place ninth individually. Sophomore Megan Tuohy also stood out in the invitational, shooting 79-77—157 to place 21st individually.
Sophomore Heather Arison completed the tournament at 162 (78-84), placing 44th individually, while junior captain Susan Restrepo finished at 164 (80-84). Sophomore Carly Arison shot 79-86—165, while freshman Claire Straty came in at 170 overall (86-84).
Brown will compete in the 2010 Ivy League Championship next week, April 23-25, at the world-renown Baltusrol Country Club in Springfield, New Jersey, the site of two United States Women's Open, and two US Women's Amateur Championships.
