Victoria, TX - The Brown women’s completed its first tournament of the spring season with a 16th place finish at the Claud Jacobs Intercollegiate, hosted by Texas State at the par 72, 6028-yard course at the Victoria Country Club.
Texas State came from behind to capture the team championship with a three-round 913, followed by Oklahoma (916), Sam Houston St. (938), Akron (941), Arkansas State (951), Lamar (952), Oklahoma City (954), Houston Baptist (962), St. Edwards (966), McNeese St. (966), Northern Illinois (973), McLennan CC (978), Stephen F. Austin (981), Redlands CC (984), Texas Pan American (1,002) and Brown (1,104).
Brown sophomore Megan Tuohen shot a final round 80 to finish 57th individually and pace the Bears with a three-round 249. Sophomore Carly Arison was Brown’s second top finisher with a three-round 259. Junior Julia Robinson was also solid with a final round 84 to finish at 259.
Junior captain Susan Restrepo shot 83 in her final round to finish at 261, while sophomore Heather Arison’s last day 85 put her at 265. Junior Sarah Guarascio played as an individual and came in with a three-round 265.
The Bears will be back in action again, March 29-30, at the Georgetown Invitational.
