Nov. 12, 2003

Brown seniors Lizzie Buza (Houston, TX), Meaghan Harwood (Hoosick Falls, NY) and Laurel Pierpont (Jacksonville, FL) were all selected to the 2003 All-Ivy Field Hockey team.

A four-time All-Ivy selection, Buza earned First Team All-Ivy honors for the second straight year, after earning Second Team recognition in 2001 and Honorable Mention honors in 2000. The team's leading scorer with 20 points (7g, 6a), Buza is one of Brown's best all-around players, and a dominant force in the midfield. She finished her career with 60 points on 21 goals and 18 assists.

Pierpont earned Second Team All-Ivy recognition for the second year in a row, finishing this season as Brown's third-leading scorer with 17 points (7g, 3a). She will leave Brown with 72 points on 28 goals and 16 assists. In addition, she is in the Brown record books for most points in a game with eight.

An Honorable Mention selection in 2002, Harwood earned Second Team All-Ivy honors this season. A forward for her first three years, Harwood played at back this season, and quickly became one of the most valuable defenders on the team with great vision and playmaking skills. She still contributed on offense, finishing the year with eight points (3g,2a) for 34 career points (15g, 4a).

Brown finished the season with an 11-6 record, its first winning season since 2000, and a 4-3 mark and fourth place finish in the Ivy League.
