Lloyd, Vincent, Townsend, and Eaton Earn All-Ivy Field Hockey Honors

Brown field hockey senior captains Kristen Vincent (Glens Falls, NY) and Brooke Townsend (Stamford, CT), junior Samantha Lloyd (Shavertown, PA), and freshman Sara Eaton (Arlington, VA) have all earned 2005 All-Ivy Field Hockey honors.

A three-year starter at sweeper, Vincent was named a First Team All-Ivy selection for the second straight year. The Bears' leading scorer a year ago, Vincent finished this season ranked third on the team in scoring with 11 points (4g, 3a). Vincent will represent Brown next weekend at the annual North/South Senior All-Star game, to be played November 19, at the University of Louisville. Vincent finished her career with 27 points (10g, 7a).

Joining Vincent on the First Team was Lloyd, who was one of four unanimous First Team All-Ivy selections. A two-year starter at forward/midfield, Lloyd had a breakthrough year for the Bears, leading the team in points (20), goals (8), and game-winning goals (3). In three seasons, Lloyd has 26 points (10g, 6a).

Townsend earned Second Team All-Ivy recognition for the second straight year, finishing the season as Brown's second-leading scorer with 15 points (6g, 3a), including three goals against Cornell. A one-time Ivy League Player of the Week, Townsend was named an alternate for the annual North/South Senior All-Star Game. She finished her career with 31 points (13g, 5a).

An Honorable Mention selection this season, Eaton started 14 of the Bears' 16 games, while finishing fourth on the team in scoring with 10 points (3g, 4a). She earned Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors after notching a goal and an assist in Brown's 2-1 come-from-behind win over Columbia.

Brown finished the season with an 8-8 record and a 5-2 mark in the Ivy League, to finish in second place in the Ancient Eight, the Bears' highest finish since winning the league in 1999.
