Field Hockey Recognized in Most Recent NFHCA National Poll

Providence, RI - The Brown field hockey team, which currently has an 8-5 record and a 2-2 mark in the Ivy League has received votes in the most recent National Field Hockey Coaches Association Poll. The Bears have been consistently recognized in the poll all season for their strong play, including a win over ranked Boston University, and close games against ranked Harvard and Princeton.

The Bears have been led by seniors Lizzie Buza (Houston, TX), Molly Carleton (Shaker Heights, OH), and Laurel Pierpont (Jacksonville, FL). Buza leads the team with 14 points, while Carleton is second with 12 points, followed by Pierpont, who is third on the team with 10 points.

Defensively, Brown is led by sophomore Kristen Vincent (Glens Falls, NY), who leads the team with three defensive saves. Senior Meaghan Harwood (Hoosick Falls, NY) adds one defensive save and also has six points. Junior Katie Noe (Simsbury, CT) has been strong in net. She currently has a 1.76 goals against average with a .760 save percentage.

The Bears continue action on Sunday, October 26, when they face Cornell in a 12:00 noon Ivy League contest.
