Brown senior co-captain Kristen Vincent (Glens Falls, NY) will extend her field hockey career, with the opportunity to play a little longer after the conclusion of Brown's field hockey season. She was one of 19 athletes chosen to the North roster for the Division I North-South Senior All-Star Game, to be held at the University of Louisville on Saturday, November 19, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. In addition, senior co-captain Brooke Townsend (Stamford, CT) has been chosen as one of five alternates for the North squad.
A unanimous First Team All-Ivy selection a year ago, Vincent is one of two Ivy League athletes chosen among the 38 total athletes. With four games left this season, Vincent is currently fourth on the team in scoring with 2-3-7 numbers. The leading scorer a year ago with 6-3-15 numbers, Vincent also led the team with five defensive saves, while earning Second Team STX.NFHCA All-Region honors. She has started 44 games over the past three seasons, missing just one game since the 2003 campaign. Vincent was named both MVP and outstanding defensive player of the team last season.
Townsend will find out on November 14th whether or not she will be joining Vincent on the North squad. A Second Team All-Ivy selection last year, Townsend also earned outstanding offensive player honors from the team. She is currently second on the team this year with 3-3-9 numbers. She has started all but one of her 61 career games and has posted 10-5-25 numbers since the 2003 season.
