PROVIDENCE, RI - Brown junior field hockey forward Andrea Posa (Weston, MA) has been named the Ivy League Player of the Week after leading the Bears to a pair of wins last week, including a 1-0 defeat of Harvard as the Bears remain undefeated in Ivy play.
Posa started the week off with two goals in Brown's 4-2 win over interstate rival URI. After a scoreless first half, Posa opened the scoring with back-to-back goals as the Bears grabbed a 2-0 lead early in the second half. Against Harvard, Posa netted her team-leading sixth goal of the year just 1:47 into the second half to break open a 0-0 game and lift Brown to its second straight win over the Crimson. After scoring just two goals last season, Posa has scored at least one goal in five of Brown's six games, scoring in all five Brown victories. She currently leads the team with an Ivy League leading 12 points (6g).
