Brosi, Dungo, and Lloyd Named 2006 Field Hockey Captains

Aug. 29, 2006

PROVIDENCE, RI - Brown field hockey seniors Evelyn Brosi (Baltimore, MD), Tracy Dungo (North Caldwell, NJ), and Samantha Lloyd (Shavertown, PA) have been named captains for the 2006 season. The trio will look to lead the Bears as they look to improve upon last year's second place finish in the Ivy League (5-2) and 8-8 overall record.

Brosi has been an important piece of the Brown goalkeeping corps, making vast improvements to her game last season. She played in five games and posted a 2.16 GAA with a .739 save percentage to go along with one shutout and a 2-0 record. Brosi helped to lead Brown to a 1-0 win at #20 Harvard in her first career start last season, earning Ivy League Player of the Week honors for her efforts.

Dungo has played a crucial role on the Brown front line, played in all 32 games over the past two seasons, notching 5-1-11 numbers. Last year, Dungo scored two goals, including the Bears' only goal in a 1-0 victory over #20 Harvard, marking the first time since 1992 that Brown has defeated the Crimson.

Lloyd has also been an important part of the Bears' forward unit, playing in all 32 games over the past two seasons. A unanimous First Team All-Ivy selection last year, Lloyd was also named Second Team Northeast All-Region. The team's leading scorer with 20 points (8g, 4a), Lloyd scored three game-winning goals. She enters the season with 26 career points.
