The Brown field hockey team has announced the captains for the upcoming season. The three Bears have each made a unique impact on the team and will help to lead the Bears in their quest for an Ivy League Championship.
Senior Ashley Wallace (Avon, CT) will be serving as a captain for the second straight year. She has started every game of her Brown career and is one of the top playmakers in the midfield. Last season, Wallace contributed one goal and five assists, bringing her career numbers to 3-8-14 in 50 career games.
Joining Wallace to lead the team are classmates Cory Pelletier (Walpole, MA) and Colleen Kanara (Kennett Square, PA). Pelletier has been a regular in the backfield since her freshman year. A crucial part of the offensive corner unit, Pelletier has a powerful and accurate drive. Last season, she contributed 2-4-8 numbers, bringing her career totals to 10-7-27 in 47 games. Kanara possesses good field vision and concentration, which have made her an excellent defensive midfielder. Her solid work ethic, positive attitude, dedication and maturity have made her a leader among her teammates. She appeared in seven games last season for a total of 23.
