Field Hockey Drops 9-1 Decision at #16 Princeton

PRINCETON, NJ - The 16th-ranked Princeton Tigers (7-5, 4-0) scored four goals in the first half and five in the second en route to a 9-1 win over Brown (4-7, 1-3) in an Ivy League contest Saturday afternoon at Princeton's Class of 1952 Stadium.

The Tigers got off to a 1-0 lead less than five minutes into the game and never looked back, heading into the break with a 4-0 lead. Princeton continued its strong play, adding five more goals during the first 15 minutes of the second half to take a 9-0 lead.

Junior Molly Carleton (Shaker Heights, OH) got the Bears on the board with 19:57 remaining as senior Cory Pelletier (Walpole, MA) earned an assist.

Sophomore goalie Katie Noe (Simsbury, CT) stopped nine shots in net for Brown as the Bears were outshot 25-3, while Pelletier added one defensive save.

Brown continues action on Wednesday when it hosts Providence at 4:00 p.m. on Warner Roof.
