CAMBRIDGE, MA - #13 Boston University (12-4) scored two goals in a span of two minutes later in the first half to earn a 3-0 win over the Brown field hockey team (0-12) on Sunday afternoon at MIT.
Sarah Shute scored what proved to be the game-winner at 21:42 when she dodged her defender in the circle and put her shot past freshman Lauren Kessler (Burtonsville, MD). The Terriers took a 2-0 lead into the half after Shute passed the ball to Hayley Hamada, who scored at 23:24.
BU earned a corner 46:12 into the game and capitalized for its third and final goal, which was scored by Shute at 47:29.
The Terriers outshot Brown, 24-3, and earned 14 corners to Brown's one. Kessler finished the day with 10 saves. The Bears return to action on Sunday, October 21, when they travel to Ithaca, NY to face Cornell at 12:00 noon.
