Bears Stun #20 Harvard in 1-0 Victory over the Crimson

CAMBRIDGE, MA - Led by juniors Tracy Dungo (North Caldwell, NJ) and Evelyn Brosi (Baltimore, MD), the Brown field hockey team (3-3, 1-1) won its second straight game, while evening its record at 3-3, with a 1-0 victory over #20 Harvard (5-2, 1-1) on Saturday afternoon at Jordan Field. Entering the game, the Crimson had given up just one goal and had not allowed a goal in all five of their victories.

Dungo netted the game-winner just 10:31 into the game when she tipped a loose ball up and over Harvard goalie Kelly Knoche on a Brown penalty corner.

The Bears put together a solid team defensive effort to shut down Harvard for the remaining 59:29 and earn their first Ivy League victory of the season.

Brosi made her second straight start in net and picked up her first career shutout with four saves. The Bears face another ranked opponent this week when they host #12 Northeastern on Wednesday, September 28, at 4:00 p.m.
