Field Hockey Falls To Vermont, 2-0

HANOVER, NH - Vermont (2-4) scored twice in the second half to defeat Brown (0-2), 2-0, in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon.

After an entire half of scoreless action, the Catamounts took a 1-0 lead early in the second half. Sophomore Kathryn Noe (Simsbury, CT) stopped an original shot off a penalty corner, but the Catamounts were there to knock the rebound into the net.

Vermont added an insurance goal midway through the second half, to put the game away.

Offensively, junior Molly Carleton (Shaker Heights, OH) led the Bears with three shots, while junior Lizzie Buza (Houston, TX) had two. Junior Margaret Pulvermann (Bethesda, MD) and senior Cory Pelletier (Walpole, MA) each had one defensive save to lead the defense, while Noe made five saves in net.

Brown continues action on Wednesday when it hosts the University of Rhode Island in the 2002 home opener at 4:00 p.m. on Warner Roof.
