HANOVER, HH - The Brown Field Hockey team (1-2, 0-1) battled Dartmouth for 58:19 of scoreless action before falling to the Big Green, 1-0, in its 2004 Ivy League opener, Saturday afternoon.

Despite getting outshot, 8-2 in the first half, the Bears kept Dartmouth off the board for the first half of the game, as senior Katie Noe (Simsbury, CT) recorded two saves in the half.

The Bears played strong defense again in the second half, as Dartmouth held a 7-4 advantage in shots, but the Big Green snuck the ball past Noe with just 11:41 remaining in the game for the 1-0 lead, which would be all they would need.

Noe finished the game with six saves, while junior Laura Kavazanjian (Setauket, NY) made one defensive save in the loss. The Bears continue action on Sunday, September 12, when they face Vermont at 12:00 noon at Dartmouth.
