Former University of Vermont standout Danielle Collins joined the Brown field hockey coaching staff in August of 2010 as an assistant coach.
Collins joins the Bears having spent the past two years as an Aide at Bird Middle School in Walpole, Massachusetts, while also coaching the JV basketball and lacrosse teams at Walpole High School. During the 2008-2009 school year, Collins was also an assistant field hockey coach at UMass Lowell, working with the Riverhawks’ forwards and corner units.
The 2007 America East Offensive Player of the Year as a senior at Vermont, Collins set UVM records for career points (121), career goals (48), single season points (45), single season goals (18), and tied the school record for career assists (25). A three-time First Team America East All-Conference selection, Collins was also named a Third Team All-American in 2007, after earning First Team All-Northeast Region honors in both 2006 and 2007 and Second Team All-Northeast Region honors in 2005. The Catamounts’ MVP in 2006, Collins was also an America East Field Hockey All-Academic Team selection in 2007.
A 2008 graduate of Vermont with a degree in Middle Level Education, Collins has also worked as a coach at the UVM Field Hockey Camp since 2007 and at Rebel Hoop Camp in Walpole since 2001.
