PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown field hockey head coach Jill Reeve revealed the Bears' 17-game schedule for the 2018 season in an announcement on Thursday. With six freshmen set to join the squad in the fall, the Bears will host eight home contests at Goldberger Family Field, opening the season with local foe Bryant on Friday, Aug. 31 on home turf.
Intra-city rival Providence proceeds Bryant on College Hill the following day, Saturday, Sept. 1. The Bears then hit the road for a Friday (Sept. 7) contest at William & Mary then a match-up at Richmond on Sunday, Sept. 9.
Brown returns home to host New Hampshire (Friday, Sept. 14) before traveling to Quinnipiac on Sunday, Sept. 16.
Ivy League play opens up with Columbia on Saturday, Sept. 22 at Goldberger Family Field followed by a quick turnaround as Georgetown visits the Bears on Sunday, Sept. 23. Dartmouth is Brown's first away league game on Friday, Sept. 29 before Harvard opens the month of October with a contest on Friday, Oct. 5 in Providence.
The Bears embark on a three-game road trip that starts with Sacred Heart on Sunday, Oct. 7. Princeton is next on Saturday, Oct. 13 and Holy Cross closes the span with a midweek match-up on Tuesday, Oct. 16.
Brown welcomes Cornell on Saturday, Oct. 20 before trips to Penn (Saturday, Oct. 27) and Villanova (Sunday, Oct. 28) close out the away slate.
The season concludes with the Bears hosting Yale on Saturday, Nov. 3 for Senior Day at Goldberger Family Field.
