12 Bears Named to 2012 NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad; Bears Also Earn NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Award
PROVIDENCE, RI – Twelve members of the field hockey team were named to the 2012 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division I National Academic Squad. The National Academic Squad program recognizes those collegiate student-athletes who have achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30 through the first semester of the 2012-13 academic year. In addition, Brown was one of 68 Division I teams to earn the 2012 NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Award. This award recognizes those institutions that achieve a minimum GPA of 3.0 during the first semester of the 2012-13 academic year.
Brown's 12 honored athletes include four-time honoree Kelley Harrison '13 (Houston, TX), who is one of 97 four-time honorees in the nation.
Also recognized from Brown were three-time honorees Maggie Brady '14 (Tulsa, OK), Avery Burns '14 (Millersville, MD), Kelsey Grossman '14 (Shavertown, PA), and Charlotte Small '14 (Summit, NJ), and two-time honorees Liza Green '15 (Providence, RI), Shannon McSweeney '15 (Boxborough, MA), and Torie Stearns '14 (Rye, NY). Cally Moran '16 (Windsor, CT), Katelynn Mudgett '16 (Burlington, CT), Hannah Rogers '16 (Mountain View, CA), and Galen Rohn '16 (Darien, CT) are all first-time honorees.
