The Brown Women's Crew will compete in the Varsity Eights Petite Final tomorrow, Sunday June 1st, for places 7-12. The Bears placed fourth in the semifinals in their heat today knocking them out of the championship race.
Brown was in third place for the majority of the race behind Harvard and Washington. Half way through the race at 1000 meters Stanford made a push and was just two seats off of Brown. Stanford took third away from the Bears in the last 250 meters and held on to knock Brown out of the Championship race. The Bears will face California, Princeton, Ohio State, Yale, and Texas in the petite final.
The Varsity II Eights repechage and Varsity Fours repechage were both raced this morning to determine who will face Brown and California in the finals tomorrow.
The Varsity II Championship race will consist of Brown, California, Princeton, Harvard, Washington, and Ohio State. The Fours will include Brown, California, Harvard, Ohio State, Yale, and Michigan.
The Fours Grand Final is set to start at 10:00 am, as the II Eights Grand Final will follow at 11:15 am. The I Eights Petite Final will be the Bears final race of the day at 11:45 am. Harvard is the only team remaining that has a boat racing in the finals in all three events.
