The Brown University Women's Crew team will compete in the Eastern Championships this Sunday, May 18th. The champion will be crowned at the Eastern Association of Women's Rowing Colleges Regatta held on the Cooper River in Camden , NJ.
Brown is just one of the eight Ivy League schools that will be competing in the regatta. All eight Ivy schools are ranked amongst the top 10, with the Bears leading the way in the number one spot. Brown was selected first on 16 of 17 ballots, with Radcliffe receiving the final vote and grabbing second followed by Princeton and Yale.
The event will not only determine the Eastern Champion, but will also determine the Champion amongst the Ivy League schools. Brown is also the defending NCAA Champion in women's rowing and will look to be ready for the 2003 Championships at Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis on May 30-June 1.
