April 30, 2006

Providence, RI - The Brown women's crew extended its unbeaten streak with wins over Yale and Northeastern on the Seekonk River in Providence on Sunday. The Bears earned wins in all five races on the day, including a four second victory by the varsity eight. Yale's varsity eight came into the race ranked fourth in the country to Brown's ninth. The Bulldogs also held a number two ranking in the latest EAWRC Coaches Poll. The Bears have now gone a perfect 20-0 in their last 20 races, heading into the EAWRC Sprints which begin May 13.

Yale also held higher rankings in the lastest second varsity eight, novice eight and third varsity four polls but Brown proved to be stronger in all of them on this particular day. The Bears also took a convincing victory in the novice four race against two Northeastern boats, one of which caught a crab halfway through the race.
