Brown Women’s Crew Claims Dunn Bowl with Win Over Cornell & Columbia

Ithaca, N.Y. – The No. 10 Brown women' crew continued its winning ways on Saturday at No. 16 Cornell as the Bears varsity eight boat was victorious over the Big Red by over two seconds to claim the Dunn Bowl. Bruno's second varsity and third varsity boats also picked up wins at Cornell in a meet versus the Big Red and Columbia.

Brown showed good speed in its varsity eight win, topping both Cornell and Columbia in the tri-meet race. The Bears were 2.3 seconds faster than Cornell and over 10 seconds ahead of the Lions top boat.

In the second varsity race, Brown topped Columbia by over two seconds, while triumphing over Cornell by nearly three and half seconds.

Brown's varsity four was topped by the Big Red by just over 10 seconds, but held nearly the same advantage over third-place Columbia. Bruno's second varsity four boat fell to Cornell's four "B" boat.

The third varsity eight boat also picked up the win for Brown, setting the top time at 7:27.0, over seven seconds ahead of second-place finisher Cornell.

The Bears return to home action next week, April 28, when they take on Yale.
