Lindsay McAlpine ‘09 Qualifies For Under-23 World Championship

Brown rower Lindsay McAlpine ‘09 (Berkeley, CA) has qualified for the Under-23 World Championships in Racice, Czech Republic, July 23-27, 2009, after teaming to win the women’s lightweight pairs at the recent United States Championship on Mercer Lake in New Jersey.
 
McAlpine paired with recent Princeton grad Madeline Davis to win the trial, besting Durham Boat Club by 3 seconds to become this year’s U.S. Representative in this, the only, Lightweight Women’s Olympic event at the regatta. The duo will depart for Prague on Saturday, July 18th.
 
A member of the Brown crew since 2006, McAlpine rowed in every boat for the Brown team in 2009 – varsity, second varsity and fours. She rowed in the varsity boat in Brown’s win over then number one Yale, Columbia, Boston University and in the varsity boat at the Eastern Championship.
